Section 68A.503, subsections 1, 2, and 3, Code 3 2021, are amended to read as follows: 4 1. Except as provided in subsections 3, 4, 5, and 6 , an 5 insurance company, savings association, bank, credit union, 6 limited liability company, or corporation shall not make a 7 monetary or in-kind contribution to a candidate or committee 8 except for a ballot issue committee. 9 2. Except as provided in subsection 3 , a candidate or 10 committee, except for a ballot issue committee, shall not 11 receive a monetary or in-kind contribution from an insurance 12 company, savings association, bank, credit union, limited 13 liability company, or corporation. 14 3. An insurance company, savings association, bank, 15 credit union, limited liability company, or corporation may 16 use money, property, labor, or any other thing of value of 17 the entity for the purposes of soliciting its stockholders, 18 administrative officers, professional employees, and members 19 for contributions to a political committee sponsored by that 20 entity and for financing the administration of a political 21 committee sponsored by that entity. The entity’s employees to 22 whom the foregoing authority does not extend may voluntarily 23 contribute to such a political committee but shall not be 24 solicited for contributions. A candidate or committee may 25 solicit, request, and receive money, property, labor, and any 26 other thing of value from a political committee sponsored by 27 an insurance company, savings association, bank, credit union, 28 limited liability company, or corporation as permitted by this 29 subsection . 30 Sec. ___.
