Section 256.9, subsection 34, Code 2021, is 18 amended to read as follows: 19 34. established by the department state board of education. 1 Sec. ___. ADDITIONAL FUNDING SUPPLEMENT —— FY 2021-2022 —— 2 APPROPRIATION. 3 1. For the school budget year beginning July 1, 2021, and 4 ending June 30, 2022, each public school district in this state 5 shall receive an additional funding supplement. The supplement 6 shall be in an amount equal to the product of the per pupil 7 amount determined under subsection 4, paragraph “b”, multiplied 8 by the actual enrollment of the school district on October 1, 9 2020, as determined under section 257.6, subsection 1. 10 2. The additional funding supplement shall be miscellaneous 11 income, shall not be included in district cost, and may be used 12 for any school general fund purpose. 13 3. The additional funding supplement shall be paid at 14 the same time and in the same manner as foundation aid is 15 paid under section 257.16, and may be included in the monthly 16 payment of foundation aid under section 257.16, subsection 2. 17 4. a. There is appropriated from the general fund of the 18 state to the department of management for the fiscal year 19 beginning July 1, 2021, and ending June 30, 2022, two hundred 20 twenty-five million dollars to be used for the payment of 21 additional funding supplement payments under this section. 22 b. For purposes of this section, “per pupil amount” means 23 the amount equal to the quotient of the amount appropriated 24 under paragraph “a” divided by the total actual enrollment of 25 all public school districts in the state on October 1, 2020, as 26 determined under section 257.6, subsection l. > 27 5.
