IMMUNITY PROVIDED BY CHAPTER 686D. To take 4 advantage of the protections afforded by chapter 686D, an 5 employer must offer paid sick leave for a minimum of eighty 6 hours for an employee at the employee’s regular rate of pay if 7 the employee is unable to work because of any of the following: 8 1. The employee is quarantined, pursuant to a federal, 9 state, or local government order, or the advice of a health 10 care provider. 11 2. The employee is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and is 12 seeking a medical diagnosis. 13 3. A bona fide need to care for an individual who is subject 14 to quarantine pursuant to a federal, state, or local government 15 order, or the advice of a health care provider. 16 4. The employee must care for a minor whose school or child 17 care provider is closed or unavailable for reasons related to 18 COVID-19. > 19 2.
