Section 47.7, Code 2020, is amended by adding the 4 following new subsection: 5 NEW SUBSECTION . 3. The state registrar of voters shall use 6 information from the electronic registration information center 7 to update information in the statewide voter registration 8 system, including but not limited to the following reports: 9 a. In-state duplicates. 10 b. In-state updates. 11 c. Cross-state matches. 12 d. Deceased. 13 e. Eligible but unregistered. 14 f. National change of address. 15 Sec. ___. Section 48A.10A, subsection 1, Code 2020, is 16 amended to read as follows: 17 1. The state registrar shall compare lists of persons who 18 are registered to vote with the department of transportation’s 19 driver’s license and nonoperator’s identification card files 20 and shall, on an initial basis, issue a voter identification 21 card to each active, registered voter whose name does not 22 appear in the department of transportation’s files or upon the 23 request of the registered voter . The voter identification 24 card shall include the name of the registered voter, a 25 signature line above which the registered voter shall 26 sign the voter identification card, the registered voter’s 27 identification number assigned to the voter pursuant to section 28 47.7, subsection 2 , and an additional four-digit personal 29 identification number assigned by the state commissioner. > 30 2.
