Section 716.7A, subsection 1, paragraph d, as 6 enacted by 2020 Iowa Acts, Senate File 2413, section 17, is 7 amended to read as follows: 8 d. (1) “Food operation” means any of the following: 9 (1) (a) A location where a food animal is produced, 10 maintained, or otherwise housed or kept, or processed in any 11 manner. 12 (2) (b) A location other than as described in subparagraph 13 (1) division (a) where a food animal is kept, including an 14 apiary, livestock market, vehicle or trailer attached to a 15 vehicle, fair, exhibition, or a business operated by a person 16 licensed to practice veterinary medicine pursuant to chapter 17 169. 18 (3) (c) A location where a meat food product, poultry 19 product, milk or milk product, eggs or an egg product, aquatic 20 product, or honey is prepared for human consumption, including 21 a food processing plant, a slaughtering establishment operating 22 under the provisions of 21 U.S.C. §451 et seq. or 21 U.S.C. 23 §601 et seq.; or a slaughtering establishment subject to state 24 inspection as provided in chapter 189A. 25 (4) (2) A “Food operation” does not include a food 26 establishment or farmers market that sells or offers for sale a 27 meat food product, poultry product, milk or milk product, eggs 28 or an egg product, aquatic product, or honey . 29 Sec. ___. EFFECTIVE DATE. This division of this Act, being 30 deemed of immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment. 31 Sec. ___. RETROACTIVE APPLICABILITY.
