TERMINATION OF MEDICAID MANAGED CARE CONTRACTS 5 RELATIVE TO LONG-TERM SERVICES AND SUPPORTS POPULATION —— 6 TRANSITION TO FEE-FOR-SERVICE. The department of human 7 services shall, upon the effective date of this division 8 of this Act, provide written notice in accordance with the 9 termination provisions of the contract, to each managed care 10 organization with whom the department executed a contract to 11 administer the Iowa high quality health care initiative as 12 established by the department, to terminate such contracts as 13 applicable to the Medicaid long-term services and supports 14 population, following a sixty-day transition period. The 15 department shall transfer the long-term services and supports 16 population to fee-for-service program administration. The 17 transition shall be based on a transition plan developed by 18 the department and submitted to the council on human services 19 and the medical assistance advisory council for review. The 20 department of human services shall seek any Medicaid state plan 21 or waiver amendments necessary to complete the transition. 22 Sec. ___. EFFECTIVE DATE. This division of this Act, being 23 deemed of immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment. > 24 2.
