By striking page 1, line 5, through page 2, line 1, and 5 inserting: 6 < Sec. ___. Section 257.11, subsection 5, paragraphs c, d, 7 and e, Code 2018, are amended to read as follows: 8 c. Supplementary weighting pursuant to this subsection 9 shall be available to a school district for a maximum of 10 five years during the period commencing with the budget year 11 beginning July 1, 2014, through the budget year beginning July 12 1, 2019 2024 . The maximum amount of additional weighting for 13 which a school district shall be eligible in a budget year 14 is twenty-one additional pupils. Criteria for determining 15 the qualification of operational functions for supplementary 16 weighting shall be determined by the department by rule, 17 through consideration of increased student opportunities. 18 d. Supplementary weighting pursuant to this subsection 19 shall be available to an area education agency for a maximum of 20 five years during the period commencing with the budget year 21 beginning July 1, 2014, through the budget year beginning July 22 1, 2019 2024 . The minimum amount of additional funding for 23 which an area education agency shall be eligible in a budget 24 year is thirty thousand dollars, and the maximum amount of 25 additional funding for which an area education agency shall 26 be eligible is two hundred thousand dollars. The department 27 of management shall annually set a weighting for each area 28 education agency to generate the approved operational sharing 29 expense using the area education agency’s special education 30 cost per pupil amount and foundation level.
