reductions

MEDICAL
TRANSPORTATION
PROVIDED
TO
MEDICAID
BENEFICIARIES.
The

human
services
shall
submit
a
Medicaid

to
the
centers
for
Medicare
and
Medicaid

services
of
the
United
States
department
of
health
and
human

services
to
request
authorization
to
establish
and
administer
a

supplemental
reimbursement
to
eligible

ground
emergency
medical
transportation
providers
that
provide

services
to
Medicaid

this
section,
“eligible
ground

emergency
medical
transportation
provider”
means
a
provider
who
5
provides
ground
emergency
medical
transportation
services
to
6
Medicaid
beneficiaries
and
is
enrolled
as
a
Medicaid
provider
7
during
the
period
being
claimed.

The
emergency
medical
transportation
intergovernmental
9
transfer
obligation
under
this
section
is
contingent
on

continuation
of
the
federal
Medicaid
funding
methodology
on
the

effective
date
of

Act.
Should
the
federal
methodology

change
after

effective
date
of
this
Act,
the
department

Sec.
5.
LEGISLATORS’
PER
DIEM
FOR
THE
2018
REGULAR

SESSION.
Notwithstanding
section
2.10,
subsection
1,
to
the

contrary,
members
of
the
Eighty-seventh
General
Assembly
shall

be
limited
to
the
receipt
of
a
per
diem
for
expenses
of
office
19
for
the
Second
Regular
Session
convening
in
2018
for
a
maximum

of
ninety
calendar
days
rather
than
one
hundred
calendar
days.

the
fiscal

1,
2017,
the

graduate
medical
education
and
disproportionate
share
hospital

fund
shall
remain
at
the
amount
in
effect
on

30,
2017
,

that
the
portion
of
the
fund
attributable
to
graduate

medical
education
shall
be
reduced
in
an
amount
that
reflects

the
elimination
of
graduate
medical
education
payments
made
to

out-of-state
hospitals
.

(b)
Effective
March
1,
2018,
a
hospital
that
is
located

in
Iowa,
is
classified
as
state
government-owned
or
nonstate

payments
shall
transfer

to
the
medical
assistance
program
an
amount
equal
to
provide

nonfederal
share
for
a

Distribution
of

on

monthly
basis.
A
hospital
that

the

conditions

receive
