Senate File 516 S-3377 Amend Senate File 516 as follows: 1 1. Page 8, before line 28 by inserting: 2 < Sec. ___. Section 279.19A, subsection 1, Code 2017, as 3 amended by 2017 Iowa Acts, House File 291, section 36, is 4 amended to read as follows: 5 1. School districts employing individuals to coach 6 interscholastic athletic sports in relation to extracurricular 7 activities shall issue a separate extracurricular contract 8 for each of these sports activities . An extracurricular 9 contract offered under this section shall be separate from the 10 contract issued under section 279.13 . Wages for employees 11 who coach these sports shall be paid pursuant to established 12 or negotiated supplemental pay schedules. An extracurricular 13 contract shall be in writing, and shall state the number of 14 contract days for that sport extracurricular activity , the 15 annual compensation to be paid, and any other matters as may 16 be mutually agreed upon. The contract shall be for a single 17 school year. 18 Sec. ___. Section 279.19A, subsection 2, paragraph a, Code 19 2017, as amended by 2017 Iowa Acts, House File 291, section 36, 20 is amended to read as follows: 21 a. If the school district offers an extracurricular contract 22 for a sport an activity for the subsequent school year to an 23 employee who is currently performing under an extracurricular 24 contract for that sport activity , and the employee does not 25 wish to accept the extracurricular contract for the subsequent 26 year, the employee may resign from the extracurricular contract 27 within twenty-one days after it has been received. 28 Sec. ___. Section 279.19A, subsection 4, paragraph c, Code 29 2017, is amended to read as follows: 30 c. The position has not been filled by June 1 of the year 31 in which the vacancy occurred for the interscholastic athletic 32 sport extracurricular activity . > 33 2.
