A public safety support trust fund is established in 5 the state treasury under the control of the department. The 6 department may receive and accept donations, grants, loans, and 7 contributions in accordance with section 565.3 from any public 8 or private source for deposit into the trust fund. Moneys 9 credited to the trust fund are appropriated to the department 10 for the purpose of supporting the activities of the department. 11 Moneys deposited into the fund shall not be used or transferred 12 to develop, solicit, or implement the privatization of 13 any department activities, including the activities of the 14 department of corrections. 15 2. Notwithstanding section 8.33, moneys in the trust fund 16 shall not revert. Notwithstanding section 12C.7, subsection 17 2, interest or earnings on moneys deposited in the trust fund 18 shall be credited to the trust fund. 19 Sec. ___. Section 904.310A, Code 2018, is amended by 20 striking the section and inserting in lieu thereof the 21 following: 22 904.310A Information or materials —— distribution. 23 1. Funds appropriated to the department or other funds made 24 available to the department shall not be used to distribute 25 or make available any commercially published information or 26 material to an inmate when such information or material is 27 sexually explicit or features nudity. 28 2.
