Shall be subject to the assessment of fees for the 16 support of the Iowa energy center created in section 15.120 17 and the center for global and regional environmental research 18 created by the state board of regents . Section 476.10A, Code 2018, is amended to read 22 as follows: 23 476.10A Funding for Iowa energy center and center for global 24 and regional environmental research . 25 1. a. The board shall direct all gas and electric utilities 26 to remit to the treasurer of state one-tenth of one percent of 27 the total gross operating revenues during the last calendar 28 year derived from their intrastate public utility operations. 29 The board shall by rule provide a schedule for remittances. 30 b. The amounts collected pursuant to this section shall be 31 in addition to the amounts permitted to be assessed pursuant 32 to section 476.10 . Notwithstanding section 10 12C.7, subsection 2 , interest or earnings on investments or 11 time deposits of the moneys remitted under this section shall 12 be retained and used for the purposes designated, pursuant to 13 section 476.46 . 14 3. The Iowa energy center and the center for global and 15 regional environmental research shall each provide a written 16 annual report to the utilities board that describes each the 17 center’s activities and the results that each the center has 18 accomplished.
