Page 18, after line 4 by inserting: 8 < DIVISION ___ 9 LOCATION OF WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT CENTERS 10 Sec. ___. Section 84B.3, Code 2018, is amended to read as 11 follows: 12 84B.3 Workforce development centers —— location. 13 A workforce development center, as provided in section 14 84B.2 , shall be located in each service delivery area. Each 15 workforce development center shall also maintain a presence, 16 through satellite offices or electronic means, in each county 17 located within that service delivery area. For purposes of 18 this section , “service delivery area” means the area included 19 within a merged area, as defined in section 260C.2 , realigned 20 to the closest county border as determined by the department 21 of workforce development. However, if the state workforce 22 development board determines that an area of the state would be 23 adversely affected by the designation of the service delivery 24 areas by the department, the department may, after consultation 25 with the applicable local workforce development boards and 26 with the approval of the state workforce development board, 27 make accommodations in determining the service delivery areas, 28 including but not limited to the creation of a new service 29 delivery area. In no event shall the department create more 30 than sixteen service delivery areas.
