Begins enrollment at an eligible institution within 16 two academic years of graduation from high school or receipt 17 of a high school equivalency diploma under chapter 259A and 18 continuously receives awards as a full-time or part-time 19 student to maintain eligibility. However, the student may 20 defer participation in the program for up to two years in order 21 to pursue obligations that meet conditions established by the 22 commission by rule or to fulfill military obligations. > 23 4. Page 25, after line 6 by inserting: 24 < Sec. ___. Section 261.87, subsection 3, Code 2017, is 25 amended to read as follows: 26 3. Extent of scholarship. A qualified student at an 27 eligible institution may receive scholarships for not more than 28 the equivalent of two eight full-time academic years semesters 29 of undergraduate study, excluding summer semesters. A 30 qualified student attending part-time may receive scholarships 31 for not more than the equivalent of sixteen part-time semesters 32 of undergraduate study.
