FUTURE CONTINGENT REPEAL, CODE EDITOR 5 NOTIFICATION, AND CODE EDITOR DIRECTIVE. 6 1. Section 256.7, subsection 32, paragraph “c”, is repealed 7 on July 1, 2018, if the department of education’s virtual 8 schools in the Iowa annual report issued during the 2018 9 legislative session does not document a ten percent improvement 10 in both retention rates and achievement data, percent 11 proficient based on the Iowa assessments, including alternate 12 assessment scores in reading, math, and science for both the 13 Iowa connections academy at CAM community school district 14 and the Iowa virtual academy at Clayton ridge community 15 school district, over the previous school year’s scores. The 16 department of education shall notify the Iowa Code editor if 17 the ten percent improvement level is not achieved. 18 2. If the department of education informs the Iowa Code 19 editor that the ten percent improvement level was not achieved 20 as required under subsection 1, the Iowa Code editor is 21 directed to repeal Code section 256.7, subsection 32, paragraph 22 “c” from the Code of Iowa and to make conforming changes, as 23 appropriate, to the Code of Iowa to reflect the provisions 24 of this division of this Act, including but not limited to 25 striking the words “Except as provided in paragraph “c”,” from 26 section 256.7, subsection 32, paragraph “b”. > 27 2.
