Section 707.7, subsections 1 and 2, Code 2017, 5 are amended to read as follows: 6 1. Any person who intentionally terminates a human 7 pregnancy, with the knowledge and voluntary consent of the 8 pregnant person, after the end of the second trimester of the 9 pregnancy fetus reaches viability where death of the fetus 10 results commits feticide. Feticide is a class “C” felony. 11 2. Any person who attempts to intentionally terminate a 12 human pregnancy, with the knowledge and voluntary consent of 13 the pregnant person, after the end of the second trimester of 14 the pregnancy fetus reaches viability where death of the fetus 15 does not result commits attempted feticide. Attempted feticide 16 is a class “D” felony. 17 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE UPON ENACTMENT.
