House File 295 H-1130 Amend House File 295 as follows: 1 1. By striking everything after the enacting clause 2 and inserting: 3 < Section 1. Section 91D.1, subsection 1, paragraphs 4 a and d, Code 2017, are amended to read as follows: 5 a. (1) The state hourly wage shall be at least 6 $6.20 as of April 1, 2007, and $7.25 as of January 1, 7 2008 $8.75 as of July 1, 2017, $9.75 as of January 1, 8 2018, and $10.75 as of January 1, 2019 . 9 (2) The state hourly wage, including the state 10 hourly wage for the first ninety calendar days 11 of employment provided in paragraph “d” , shall be 12 increased annually on July 1, beginning July 1, 2020, 13 by the same percentage as the cost-of-living increase 14 in federal social security benefits authorized during 15 the previous state fiscal year by the federal social 16 security administration pursuant to section 215 of the 17 federal Social Security Act, 42 U.S.C. §415. 18 d. An employer is not required to pay an employee 19 the applicable state hourly wage provided in paragraph 20 “a” until the employee has completed ninety calendar 21 days of employment with the employer. An employee who 22 has completed ninety calendar days of employment with 23 the employer prior to April 1, 2007, or January 1, 24 2008, shall earn the applicable state hourly minimum 25 wage as of that the date of completion . An employer 26 shall pay an employee who has not completed ninety 27 calendar days of employment with the employer an hourly 28 wage of at least $5.30 as of April 1, 2007, and $6.35 29 as of January 1, 2008 $7.85 as of July 1, 2017, $8.85 30 as of January 1, 2018, and $9.85 as of January 1, 31 2019 . > 32 2.
