NEW SECTION . 321.183A Application for 4 driver’s license or nonoperator’s identification card —— 5 race, ethnicity, and primary language —— annual report. 6 1. A person who applies for a driver’s license or 7 nonoperator’s identification card or for renewal of a 8 driver’s license or nonoperator’s identification card, 9 shall be requested by the application to specify the 10 person’s race, ethnicity, and primary language. 11 2. The department shall file a report with the 12 general assembly beginning January 15, 2018, and 13 every January 15, thereafter, detailing the number of 14 driver’s licenses and nonoperator’s identification 15 cards containing encrypted data specified in subsection 16 1. > 17 2.
