Senate File 402 S-3035 Amend Senate File 402 as follows: 1 1. By striking everything after the enacting clause 2 and inserting: 3 < Section 1. CLARINDA AND MOUNT PLEASANT MENTAL 4 HEALTH INSTITUTES. 5 1. The department shall ensure placement of all 6 eligible patients such that all such patients receive 7 the most appropriate and highest quality of care 8 possible, whether in a state mental health institute or 9 in a home and community-based setting. 10 2. Prior to closing any mental health institute, 11 the department of human services shall have a plan 12 in place to ensure proper placement of all patients 13 currently in the mental health institute to be closed. 14 The plan shall take into account the level of care 15 required by each patient and the safety and well-being 16 of the patient, the patient’s family, and the community 17 at large.
