Senate Amendment to House File 2283 H-8134 Amend House File 2283, as passed by the House, as 1 follows: 2 1. Page 1, by striking lines 3 through 19 and 3 inserting: 4 < 2. a. A person shall not operate or ride a 5 snowmobile with a firearm in the person’s possession 6 unless it is unloaded and enclosed in a carrying case. 7 However, a nonambulatory person may carry an uncased 8 and unloaded firearm while operating or riding a 9 snowmobile. 10 b. (1) A person may operate or ride on a 11 snowmobile with a loaded firearm, whether concealed or 12 not, without a permit to carry weapons, if the person 13 operates or rides on land owned or possessed by the 14 person, and the person’s conduct is otherwise lawful. 15 (2) If a person is operating or riding on a 16 snowmobile on land that is not owned or possessed 17 by the person, the person may operate or ride the 18 snowmobile with a loaded firearm, whether concealed or 19 not, if all of the following apply: 20 (a) The firearm is a pistol or revolver and is 21 secured in a retention holster upon the person. 22 (b) The person has in the person’s possession and 23 displays to a peace officer on demand a valid permit to 24 carry weapons which has been issued to the person. 25 (c) The person’s conduct is within the limits of 26 the permit to carry weapons. 27 c. A person shall not discharge a firearm while on 28 a snowmobile, except that a nonambulatory person may 29 discharge a firearm from a snowmobile while lawfully 30 hunting if the person is not operating or riding a 31 moving snowmobile. > 32 2.
