A person serving a sentence for a 6 conviction of child endangerment in violation of 7 section 726.6, subsection 4, shall be denied parole 8 or work release until the person has served between 9 three-tenths and seven-tenths of the maximum term of 10 the person’s sentence as provided under paragraph “b” . 11 b. The sentencing court shall determine when 12 the person shall become eligible for consideration 13 of parole or work release within the parameters 14 specified under paragraph “a” , based upon all pertinent 15 information including the person’s criminal record and 16 whether the offense involved multiple intentional acts 17 or a series of intentional acts, or whether the offense 18 involved torture or cruelty. 19 3. a. A person serving a sentence for a conviction 20 of robbery in the second degree in violation of section 21 711.3 for a conviction that occurs on or after July 1, 22 2016, shall be denied parole or work release until the 23 person has served between three-tenths and seven-tenths 24 of the maximum term of the person’s sentence as 25 provided under paragraph “b” . 26 b.
