Page 28, after line 38 by inserting: 4 < DIVISION ___ 5 BREAST DENSITY TASK FORCE AND REPORT 6 Sec. ___. BREAST DENSITY TASK FORCE AND REPORT. 7 1. The department of public health shall establish 8 and facilitate a task force to discuss breast density 9 and its relationship to cancer. 10 2. The membership of the task force shall include 11 but is not limited to the following: 12 a. A representative of the department of public 13 health. 14 b. A representative of the department of human 15 services. 16 c. Medical professionals working with breast cancer 17 patients. 18 d. A radiologist. 19 e. A primary care physician. 20 f. A physician assistant or advanced registered 21 nurse practitioner. 22 g. Two advocates for notification to patients of 23 breast density. 24 h. A legal expert in health care matters concerning 25 notification to patients. 26 i. A representative from a hospital or other health 27 care facility. 28 j. A representative from the insurance industry. 29 k. Other persons as the department of public health 30 deems appropriate. 31 3. The task force shall determine the essential 32 elements of an education tool for patients and health 33 care professionals in Iowa regarding breast density and 34 its relationship to cancer. 35 4. The task force shall make recommendations for 36 the implementation of a tool to educate patients and 37 health care professionals in Iowa about breast density 38 and its relationship to cancer. 39 5. The task force shall develop a process to notify 40 patients or referring health care professionals that 41 a patient has dense breasts after a finding of dense 42 breasts through medical testing. 43 6. The task force shall make other findings and 44 recommendations as appropriate. 45 7. The task force shall, by November 15, 2014, 46 submit a report of its findings and recommendations to 47 the governor and the general assembly. > 48 2.
