Page 6, by striking lines 6 through 9 and 5 inserting: 6 < b. The rules adopted pursuant to this subsection 7 shall include but not be limited to rules to establish 8 all of the following: 9 (1) Rules to establish the manner in which the 10 department shall consider applications for new and 11 renewal cannabidiol registration cards. 12 (2) Rules to establish the manner in which 13 an out-of-state patient who possesses a written 14 recommendation of a treating neurologist that 15 specifically allows the patient to possess or 16 use cannabidiol to treat or alleviate symptoms of 17 intractable epilepsy in the jurisdiction of issuance 18 shall apply for and may be issued a temporary 19 cannabidiol registration card. > 20 3. (1) The defenses afforded a patient under 22 paragraph “a” apply to a patient only if the quantity 23 of cannabidiol oil possessed by the patient does not 24 exceed thirty-two ounces. 25 (2) The defenses afforded a primary caregiver 26 under paragraph “b” apply to a primary caregiver only 27 if the quantity of cannabidiol oil possessed by the 28 primary caregiver does not exceed thirty-two ounces per 29 patient. > 30 4. The university of Iowa school 32 of medicine shall establish and conduct a clinical 33 research study to determine the outcomes and results 34 of cannabidiol on patients diagnosed with intractable 35 epilepsy.
