Senate File 2118 H-8136 Amend Senate File 2118, as passed by the Senate, as 1 follows: 2 1. By striking everything after the enacting clause 3 and inserting: 4 < Section 1. Section 236.3, subsection 1, Code 2014, 5 is amended by adding the following new paragraph: 6 NEW PARAGRAPH . 0g. Name or description of any 7 property of sentimental or emotional significance 8 which may cause the victim to stay in the abusive 9 relationship and which is owned, possessed, leased, 10 kept, or held by the petitioner, respondent, or minor 11 child of the petitioner or respondent that may be 12 affected by the controversy. 13 Sec. 2. Section 236.4, Code 2014, is amended by 14 adding the following new subsection: 15 NEW SUBSECTION . 3A. The court may include in the 16 temporary order issued pursuant to this section a grant 17 to the petitioner of the exclusive care, possession, 18 or control of any property of sentimental or emotional 19 significance which may cause the victim to stay in the 20 abusive relationship and which is owned, possessed, 21 leased, kept, or held by the petitioner, respondent, or 22 minor child of the petitioner or respondent that may 23 be affected by the controversy. The court may forbid 24 the respondent from taking, transferring, encumbering, 25 concealing, attacking, striking, harming, or otherwise 26 disposing of the property. 27 Sec. 3. Section 236.4, subsection 4, Code 2014, is 28 amended to read as follows: 29 4. If a hearing is continued, the court may make or 30 extend any temporary order under subsection 2 , or 3 , or 31 3A that it deems necessary. 32 Sec. 4. Section 236.5, subsection 1, paragraph 33 b, Code 2014, is amended by adding the following new 34 subparagraph: 35 NEW SUBPARAGRAPH . (7) A grant to the petitioner 36 of the exclusive care, possession, or control of any 37 property of sentimental or emotional significance 38 which may cause the victim to stay in the abusive 39 relationship and which is owned, possessed, leased, 40 kept, or held by the petitioner, respondent, or minor 41 child of the petitioner or respondent that may be 42 affected by the controversy. > 43 2.
