Page 3, by striking lines 30 through 34 and 3 inserting < within six months of its being released. 4 The board may adopt amendments to each code by rule. 5 The state plumbing code and the state mechanical code 6 shall be applicable to all buildings and structures 7 owned by the state or an agency of the state and in 8 each local jurisdiction. 9 b. Except as provided in paragraph ā€œcā€ , a local 10 jurisdiction is not required to adopt by ordinance 11 the state plumbing code or the state mechanical code. 12 However, a local jurisdiction that adopts by ordinance 13 the state plumbing code or the state mechanical 14 code may adopt standards that are more restrictive. 15 Local jurisdictions shall not be required to conduct 16 inspections or take any other enforcement action 17 under the state plumbing code and state mechanical 18 code regardless of whether the local jurisdiction has 19 adopted by ordinance the state plumbing code or the 20 state mechanical code. 21 c. A local jurisdiction with a population of more 22 than fifteen thousand that has not adopted by ordinance 23 the state plumbing code and state mechanical code shall 24 have until December 31, 2016, to do so. Cities that 25 have adopted a plumbing code or mechanical code as 26 of the effective date of this Act shall have until 27 December 31, 2016, to adopt the state plumbing code or 28 the state mechanical code in lieu thereof. > 29 3.
