Section 252D.16, subsection 3, Code 3 2013, is amended to read as follows: 4 3. “Support” or “support payments” means any amount 5 which the court or administrative agency may require 6 a person to pay for the benefit of a child under a 7 temporary order or a final judgment or decree entered 8 under chapter 232 , 234 , 252A , 252C , 252F , 252H , 598 , 9 600B , or any other comparable chapter, and may include 10 child support, maintenance, medical support as defined 11 in chapter 252E , spousal support, and any other term 12 used to describe these obligations. These obligations 13 may include support for a child of any age who is 14 dependent on the parties to the dissolution proceedings 15 because of physical or mental disability. The 16 obligations may include support for a child eighteen 17 or more years of age with respect to whom a child 18 support order has been issued pursuant to the laws of 19 a foreign jurisdiction. These obligations shall not 20 include amounts for a postsecondary education subsidy 21 as defined in section 598.1 . > 22 2. Page 1, after line 7 by inserting: 23 < Sec. ___. Section 598.20, Code 2013, is amended to 27 read as follows: 28 598.20 Forfeiture of marital rights. 29 When a dissolution of marriage is decreed the 30 parties shall forfeit all rights acquired by marriage 31 which are not specifically preserved in the decree. 32 This provision shall not obviate any of the provisions 33 of section 598.21 , 598.21A , 598.21B , 598.21C , 598.21D , 34 or 598.21E , or 598.21F . 35 Sec. ___. Section 598.22, subsection 5, Code 2013, 36 is amended to read as follows: 37 5. Prompt payment of sums required to be paid 38 under sections 598.10 , 598.21A , 598.21B , 598.21C , and 39 598.21E , and 598.21F is the essence of such orders or 40 judgments and the court may act pursuant to section 41 598.23 regardless of whether the amounts in default are 42 paid prior to the contempt hearing. 43 Sec. ___.
