The board of directors of a public school 18 district or the governing body of an accredited 19 nonpublic school shall set the number of days hours of 20 required attendance for the schools under its control. 21 The board of directors of a public school district or 22 the governing body of an accredited nonpublic school 23 may, by resolution, require attendance for the entire 24 time when the schools are in session in any school year 25 and adopt a policy or rules relating to the reasons 26 considered to be valid or acceptable excuses for 27 absence from school. > 28 3.
