Section 423.3, subsection 78, paragraph 5 c, Code Supplement 2011, is amended to read as follows: 6 c. This exemption does not apply to the sales price 7 from games of skill, games of chance, raffles, and 8 bingo games as defined in chapter 99B . However, this 9 exemption does apply to the sales price from raffles 10 as defined in chapter 99B conducted by a qualified 11 organization representing veterans that is exempt from 12 federal income tax under section 501(c)(19) of the 13 Internal Revenue Code if the profits from the sales 14 price are used for educational purposes to include 15 providing scholarships. 16 d. This exemption is disallowed on the amount of 17 the sales price only to the extent the profits from the 18 sales, rental, or services are not used by or donated 19 to the appropriate entity and expended for educational, 20 religious, or charitable purposes. >> 21 2.
