Section 260C.18A, subsection 1, Code 3 Supplement 2011, is amended by adding the following new 4 paragraph: 5 NEW PARAGRAPH . c. There is appropriated from the 6 general fund of the state to the workforce training and 7 economic development funds, the following amounts: 8 (1) For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2012, 9 and ending June 30, 2013, the sum of twelve million 10 dollars. 11 (2) For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2013, 12 and ending June 30, 2014, the sum of twelve million 13 dollars. 14 (3) For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2014, 15 and ending June 30, 2015, the sum of twelve million 16 dollars. 17 Sec. ___. Section 260C.18A, subsection 2, Code 18 Supplement 2011, is amended by adding the following new 19 paragraph: 20 NEW PARAGRAPH . j. Development and implementation 21 of the national career readiness certificate and the 22 skills certification system endorsed by the national 23 association of manufacturers. > 24 2. There is established for the community 27 colleges a gap tuition assistance fund in the state 28 treasury to be administered by the department of 29 education. The funds in the gap tuition assistance 30 fund are appropriated to the department of education 31 for the gap tuition assistance program. 32 b. There is appropriated from the general fund 33 of the state to the gap tuition assistance fund, the 34 following amounts: 35 (1) For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2012, and 36 ending June 30, 2013, the sum of two million dollars. 37 (2) For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2013, and 38 ending June 30, 2014, the sum of two million dollars. 39 (3) For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2014, and 40 ending June 30, 2015, the sum of two million dollars. 41 c.
