Allow a public library that 4 receives state assistance under section 256.57, or 5 financial support from a city or county pursuant 6 to section 256.69, to dispose of, through sale, 7 conveyance, or exchange, any library materials that may 8 be obsolete or worn out or that may no longer be needed 9 or appropriate to the mission of the public library. 10 These materials may be sold by the public library 11 directly or the governing body of the public library 12 may sell the materials by consignment to a public 13 agency or to a private agency organized to raise funds 14 solely for support of the public library. Proceeds 15 from the sale of the library materials may be remitted 16 to the public library and may be used by the public 17 library for the purchase of books and other library 18 materials or equipment, or for the provision of library 19 services. > 20 2.
