NEW SECTION . 718B.1 Impersonating a 4 decorated military veteran. 5 A person who impersonates a decorated military 6 veteran with the intent to deceive another person for 7 the purpose of gaining any real or anticipated monetary 8 gain commits a serious misdemeanor. For the purposes 9 of this section, “decorated military veteran” means a 10 veteran of the armed forces of the United States who 11 has been awarded any decoration or medal authorized by 12 the United States Congress for service in the armed 13 forces of the United States, any of the service medals 14 or badges awarded to the members of such forces, or 15 the ribbon, button, or rosette of any such badge, 16 decoration, or medal. > 17 2.
