The board of directors of a school district may 5 shall expend moneys received pursuant to section 257.6, 6 subsection 1 , paragraph “a” , subparagraph (5), for 7 purposes of providing a home school assistance program. 8 Sec. ___. Section 299A.12, subsection 2, paragraphs 9 a and b, Code 2011, are amended to read as follows: 10 a. Assisting Instruction for students and assisting 11 parents with instruction. 12 b. Student Support services for students and 13 teaching-parent support services teaching parents and 14 staff support services. 15 Sec. ___. Section 299A.12, subsection 2, paragraph 16 g, unnumbered paragraph 1, Code 2011, is amended to 17 read as follows: 18 Resources, materials, computer software and 19 hardware, and supplies, and purchased services that 20 meet the following criteria: 21 Sec. ___. Section 299A.12, subsection 3, paragraphs 22 b, c, e, and f, Code 2011, are amended to read as 23 follows: 24 b. Operational or maintenance costs in addition 25 to the cost of maintaining school district facilities 26 other than those necessary to operate and maintain the 27 program . 28 c. Capital expenditures other than equipment or 29 facility acquisition, including the lease or rental of 30 space to supplement existing schoolhouse facilities . 31 e. Administrative costs other than the costs 32 necessary to administer the program . 33 f. Concurrent and dual enrollment program costs and 34 postsecondary enrollment options program costs. 35 Sec. ___. RETROACTIVE APPLICABILITY. The sections 36 of this Act amending sections 299A.2 and 299A.8 apply 37 retroactively to the base year beginning July 1, 2009. > 38 2.
