     1 11 #4.  Page 1, after line 28 by inserting:
     1 12    <Sec. ___.  Section 261.9, subsection 1, paragraph
     1 13 g, Code 2009, is amended to read as follows:
     1 14    g.  (1)  Adopts a policy to offer not less than the
     1 15 following options to a student who is a member, or
     1 16 the spouse of a member if the member has a dependent
     1 17 child, of the Iowa national guard or reserve forces of
     1 18 the United States and who is ordered to state military
     1 19 service or federal service or duty:
     1 20    (1)  (a)  Withdraw from the student's entire
     1 21 registration and receive a full refund of tuition and
     1 22 mandatory fees.
     1 23    (2)  (b)  Make arrangements with the student's
     1 24 instructors for course grades, or for incompletes that
     1 25 shall be completed by the student at a later date. If
     1 26 such arrangements are made, the student's registration
     1 27 shall remain intact and tuition and mandatory fees
     1 28 shall be assessed for the courses in full.
     1 29    (3)  (c)  Make arrangements with only some of the
     1 30 student's instructors for grades, or for incompletes
     1 31 that shall be completed by the student at a later
     1 32 date. If such arrangements are made, the registration
     1 33 for those courses shall remain intact and tuition and
     1 34 mandatory fees shall be assessed for those courses.
     1 35 Any course for which arrangements cannot be made for
     1 36 grades or incompletes shall be considered dropped and
     1 37 the tuition and mandatory fees for the course refunded.
     1 38    (2)  As used in this lettered paragraph, "dependent
     1 39 child" means the same as defined in section 260C.14,
     1 40 subsection 14, paragraph "b", subparagraph (2),
     1 41 subparagraph division (a).>
