     1  1    Amend Senate File 2117 as follows:
     1  2 #1.  Page 1, before line 1 by inserting:
     1  3    <Section 1.  Section 147.108, subsection 2, Code
     1  4 2009, is amended to read as follows:
     1  5    2.  After contact lenses have been adequately
     1  6 adapted and the patient released from initial follow=up
     1  7 care by a person licensed under chapter 148 or 154,
     1  8 the patient may request a copy, at no cost, of the
     1  9 contact lens prescription from that licensed person.
     1 10 A person licensed under chapter 148 or 154 shall
     1 11 not withhold a contact lens prescription after the
     1 12 requirements of this section have been met.  The
     1 13 prescription, at the option of the prescriber, may
     1 14 be given orally only to a person who is actively
     1 15 practicing and licensed under chapter 148, 154, or
     1 16 155A.  The contact lens prescription shall contain an
     1 17 expiration date, at the discretion of the prescriber,
     1 18 but not to exceed eighteen months.  The contact lens
     1 19 prescription shall contain the necessary requirements
     1 20 of the ophthalmic lens, and the prescription validation
     1 21 requirements as defined by rules adopted pursuant to
     1 22 this section.  The prescription may contain adapting
     1 23 and material guidelines and may also contain specific
     1 24 instructions for use by the patient.  For the purpose
     1 25 of this section, "ophthalmic lens" means one which
     1 26 has been fabricated to fill the requirements of a
     1 27 particular contact lens prescription, including
     1 28 pharmaceutical=delivering contact lenses as defined in
     1 29 section 154.1, subsection 4.>
