1 3 #1. Page 27, by inserting after line 30 the
1 4 following:
1 5 <aa. For distribution to school districts for
1 6 professional development related to implementation of
1 7 the model core curriculum adopted by the state board
1 8 of education in accordance with section 256.7,
1 9 subsection 26, and implemented in accordance with
1 10 section 280.3, subsection 3:
1 11 .................................................. $ 2,000,000
1 12 (1) The department of education shall distribute
1 13 funds appropriated in this lettered paragraph for the
1 14 purpose of this lettered paragraph based on the
1 15 average per diem contract salary for each district as
1 16 reported to the department for the school year
1 17 beginning July 1, 2008, multiplied by the total number
1 18 of full=time equivalent teachers in the base year.
1 19 These funds shall not supplant existing funding for
1 20 professional development activities.
1 21 (2) Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary,
1 22 moneys received by a school district under this
1 23 lettered paragraph shall not revert but shall remain
1 24 available for the same purpose in the succeeding
1 25 fiscal year.
1 26 (3) A school district shall submit a report to the
1 27 department of education in a manner determined by the
1 28 department describing its use of the funds received
1 29 under this lettered paragraph. The department shall
1 30 submit a report on school district use of the moneys
1 31 distributed pursuant to this lettered paragraph to the
1 32 department of management and the legislative services
1 33 agency not later than January 15 of the fiscal year
1 34 for which moneys are allocated for purposes of this
1 35 lettered paragraph.
1 36 aaa. For instructional support state aid under
1 37 section 257.20, for the fiscal year beginning July 1,
1 38 2009, in lieu of the appropriation made in section
1 39 257.20, subsection 2:

1 41 Notwithstanding section 257.20, subsection 3, the
1 42 appropriation made in this lettered paragraph shall be
1 43 allocated in the same manner as the allocation of the
