     1  1    Amend House File 682 as follows:
     1  2 #1.  Page 5, by striking lines 15 through 18 and
     1  3 inserting the following:  <registered voters, four
     1  4 precincts.>
     1  5 #2.  Page 5, by inserting before line 19 the
     1  6 following:
     1  7    <c.  Notwithstanding paragraph "b", in counties
     1  8 with seven or fewer precincts, one precinct shall be
     1  9 chosen for the postelection audit.>
     1 10 #3.  Page 5, line 19, by striking the word <c.> and
     1 11 inserting the following:  <d.>
     1 12 #4.  Page 5, line 22, by inserting after the word
     1 13 <audited> the following:  <or chosen by the
     1 14 commissioner pursuant to paragraph "f">.
     1 15 #5.  Page 5, by inserting after line 24 the
     1 16 following:
     1 17    <e.  When a precinct other than the absentee and
     1 18 special voters precinct is chosen in which one
     1 19 thousand five hundred or more ballots were cast in the
     1 20 election, the chairperson shall, for each such
     1 21 precinct, choose one less precinct than the number
     1 22 required by paragraph "b".  If such a precinct is
     1 23 chosen last among the number of precincts required by
     1 24 paragraph "b", then that precinct shall be audited,
     1 25 and the first precinct drawn that was not the absentee
     1 26 and special voters precinct shall not be audited.
     1 27    f.  The commissioner may choose to include in the
     1 28 audit additional precincts not chosen by lot under
     1 29 this subsection.>
     1 30 #6.  Page 5, line 25, by striking the word <d.> and
     1 31 inserting the following:  <g.>
     1 32 #7.  Page 5, line 29, by striking the word <e.> and
     1 33 inserting the following:  <h.>
     1 34 #8.  Page 6, by striking lines 16 through 18 and
     1 35 inserting the following:  <is the subject of the
     1 36 audit.  Only votes marked in accordance with the
     1 37 instructions that are printed on the ballot in a
     1 38 precinct being audited shall be counted in the audit.>
