     1  1    Amend House File 520 as follows:
     1  2 #1.  Page 1, by inserting before line 20 the
     1  3 following:
     1  4    <Sec.    .  Section 261D.3, Code 2009, is amended
     1  5 by adding the following new subsection:
     1  6    NEW SUBSECTION.  5.  The commissioners representing
     1  7 this state shall support this state's participation in
     1  8 the midwest student exchange program.>
     1  9 #2.  Title page, by striking lines 1 and 2 and
     1 10 inserting the following:  <An Act relating to higher
     1 11 education by requiring support for Iowa's
     1 12 participation in the midwest student exchange program
     1 13 and by providing for a definition of resident for
     1 14 purposes of tuition and fees for qualified veterans
     1 15 and military persons and their spouses and dependent
     1 16 children at Iowa's public>.
     1 17 #3.  By renumbering as necessary.
