     1  1    Amend Senate File 2251, as amended, passed, and
     1  2 reprinted by the Senate, as follows:
     1  3 #1.  Page 1, line 4, by inserting after the word
     1  4 <association> the following:  <and as approved by the
     1  5 department of education>.
     1  6 #2.  Page 1, by striking lines 7 through 15 and
     1  7 inserting the following:
     1  8    <2.  School districts may encourage a student to
     1  9 receive an eye examination by a licensed
     1 10 ophthalmologist or optometrist prior to the student
     1 11 receiving special education services pursuant to
     1 12 chapter 256B.  The eye examination is not a
     1 13 requirement for a student to receive special education
     1 14 services.  A parent or guardian shall be responsible
     1 15 for ensuring that a student receives an eye
     1 16 examination pursuant to this section.>
     1 17 #3.  By renumbering, relettering, or redesignating
     1 18 and correcting internal references as necessary.
