     1  1    Amend Senate File 2251, as amended, passed, and
     1  2 reprinted by the Senate, as follows:
     1  3 #1.  Page 1, by striking lines 7 through 15 and
     1  4 inserting the following:
     1  5    <2.  School districts may encourage a student to
     1  6 receive an eye examination by a licensed
     1  7 ophthalmologist or optometrist prior to the student
     1  8 receiving special education services pursuant to
     1  9 chapter 256B.  The eye examination is not a
     1 10 requirement for a student to receive special education
     1 11 services.  A parent or guardian shall be responsible
     1 12 for ensuring that a student receives an eye
     1 13 examination pursuant to this section.>
