     1  1    Amend House File 883 as follows:
     1  2 #1.  Page 1, by inserting after line 8 the
     1  3 following:
     1  4    <Sec.    .  Section 423.3, Code 2007, is amended by
     1  5 adding the following new subsection:
     1  6    NEW SUBSECTION.  68A.  The sales price from the
     1  7 sale of general school supplies which are intended for
     1  8 classroom use if all of the following apply:
     1  9    a.  The sales price of each item is less than
     1 10 twenty dollars.
     1 11    b.  The sale takes place during a period beginning
     1 12 at 12:01 a.m. on the first Friday in August and ending
     1 13 at midnight on the following Saturday.>
     1 14 #2.  Title page, line 1, by inserting after the
     1 15 words <relating to> the following:  <a sales tax
     1 16 exemption for general school supplies and to>.
     1 17 #3.  By renumbering as necessary.
