     1  1    Amend House File 646, as amended, passed, and
     1  2 reprinted by the House, as follows:
     1  3 #1.  Page 2, by inserting after line 5 the
     1  4 following:
     1  5    <Sec.    .  Section 99B.7, subsection 1, paragraph
     1  6 d, unnumbered paragraphs 1 and 2, Code 2005, are
     1  7 amended to read as follows:
     1  8    Cash prizes shall not be awarded in games other
     1  9 than bingo and raffles.  The value of a prize shall
     1 10 not exceed ten thousand dollars and merchandise prizes
     1 11 shall not be repurchased.  If a prize consists of more
     1 12 than one item, unit, or part, the aggregate value of
     1 13 all items, units, or parts shall not exceed ten
     1 14 thousand dollars.  However, one raffle may be
     1 15 conducted per calendar year at which real property or
     1 16 one or more merchandise prizes having a combined value
     1 17 of more than ten thousand dollars may be awarded or a
     1 18 cash prize prizes of up to a total of two hundred
     1 19 thousand dollars may be awarded.
     1 20    If a raffle licensee holds a statewide raffle
     1 21 license, the licensee may hold not more than eight
     1 22 raffles per calendar year at which real property or
     1 23 one or more merchandise prizes having a combined value
     1 24 of more than ten thousand dollars may be awarded or a
     1 25 cash prize prizes of up to a total of two hundred
     1 26 thousand dollars may be awarded.  Each such raffle
     1 27 held under a statewide license shall be held in a
     1 28 separate county.>
     1 29 #2.  Page 5, by inserting after line 3 the
     1 30 following:
     1 31    <Sec.    .  EFFECTIVE DATE.  The section of this
     1 32 Act amending section 99B.7, subsection 1, paragraph
     1 33 "d", being deemed of immediate importance, takes
     1 34 effect upon enactment.>
