     1  1    Amend Senate File 245 as follows:
     1  2 #1.  Page 2, by inserting after line 6 the
     1  3 following:
     1  4    <Sec.    .  NEW SECTION.  279.60  STUDENT PROGRESS
     1  5 TOWARD UNIVERSITY ADMISSIONS REPORT.
     1  6    For the school year beginning July 1, 2006, and
     1  7 each succeeding school year, the board of directors of
     1  8 each school district shall report annually to each
     1  9 student enrolled in grades nine through twelve in the
     1 10 school district, and to each student's parent or
     1 11 guardian, the student's progress toward meeting the
     1 12 goal of successfully completing the model core
     1 13 curriculum developed by the state board of education
     1 14 pursuant to section 256.7, subsection 21.>
     1 15 #2.  Title page, line 4, by inserting after the
     1 16 word <goal,> the following:  <requiring school
     1 17 districts to report student core curriculum progress
     1 18 annually,>.
