House Amendment 8518 PAG LIN 1 1 Amend House File 2770 as follows: 1 2 #1. Page 3, by inserting after line 11 the 1 3 following: 1 4 <Sec. . Section 15G.112, Code Supplement 2005, 1 5 is amended by adding the following new subsection: 1 6 NEW SUBSECTION. 1A. If a project is located in 1 7 any nonmetropolitan county or group of contiguous 1 8 counties the majority of which includes 1 9 nonmetropolitan counties, an applicant may qualify by 1 10 meeting one of the following wage threshold 1 11 requirements in lieu of the wage threshold requirement 1 12 in subsection 1: 1 13 a. The average hourly wage of new jobs created 1 14 must be equal to or greater than one hundred thirty 1 15 percent of one of the following: 1 16 (1) For a single county, the average new hire 1 17 hourly wage over a three calendar quarter period. 1 18 (2) For a region, the average of all contiguous 1 19 counties average new hire hourly wage over a three 1 20 calendar quarter period. 1 21 b. The average hourly wage, including benefits, of 1 22 new jobs created must be equal to or greater than one 1 23 hundred fifty percent of one of the following: 1 24 (1) For a single county, the average new hire 1 25 hourly wage over a three calendar quarter period. 1 26 (2) For a region, the average of all contiguous 1 27 counties average new hire hourly wage over a three 1 28 calendar quarter period. 1 29 For purposes of this subsection, the wage 1 30 thresholds shall be determined by utilizing wage data 1 31 available from the local employment dynamics program 1 32 of the department of workforce development. The 1 33 method for calculating the wage threshold shall be 1 34 based on local employment dynamics program data for 1 35 all industry sectors and all public and private 1 36 entities. 1 37 For purposes of this subsection, "metropolitan 1 38 county" means a county included in the standard 1 39 metropolitan statistical areas as determined by the 1 40 United States census bureau.> 1 41 #2.
