     1  1    Amend the amendment, H=8361, to Senate File 2219,
     1  2 as passed by the Senate, as follows:
     1  3 #1.  Page 1, by inserting after line 2 the
     1  4 following:
     1  5    <#   .  Page 1, by inserting after line 14 the
     1  6 following:
     1  7    <   .  "Debt bondage" means the status or condition
     1  8 of a debtor arising from a pledge of the debtor's
     1  9 personal services or a person under the control of a
     1 10 debtor's personal services as a security for debt if
     1 11 the reasonable value of such services is not applied
     1 12 toward the liquidation of the debt or the length and
     1 13 nature of those services are not respectively limited
     1 14 and defined.>>
     1 15 #2.  Page 1, by inserting after line 16 the
     1 16 following:
     1 17    <#   .  Page 1, by inserting before line 29 the
     1 18 following:
     1 19    <   .  "Involuntary servitude" means a condition of
     1 20 servitude induced by means of any scheme, plan, or
     1 21 pattern intended to cause a person to believe that if
     1 22 the person did not enter into or continue in such
     1 23 condition, that person or another person would suffer
     1 24 serious harm or physical restraint or the threatened
     1 25 abuse of legal process.>>
     1 26 #3.  Page 1, by inserting after line 21 the
     1 27 following:

     1 30    <   .  "Peonage" means a status or condition of
     1 31 involuntary servitude based upon real or alleged
     1 32 indebtedness.>>

     1 34 #5.  Page 3, by striking lines 2 through 6 and
     1 35 inserting the following:
     1 36    <Victims of human trafficking, as defined in
     1 37 section 710A.1, shall have the same rights as other
     1 38 victims of a crime, including the right to receive
     1 39 victim compensation pursuant to section 915.84,
     1 40 regardless of their immigration status.>>
