1 27 <Sec. . REPORT. By December 31, 2006, the
1 28 department of economic development shall submit a
1 29 written report to the general assembly regarding the
1 30 enterprise zone program and other programs
1 31 administered by the department. The report shall
1 32 include an analysis of the impact the enterprise zone
1 33 program has on the state's economy and the economy of
1 34 the cities and counties where enterprise zones are and
1 35 have been located, how the enterprise zone program
1 36 integrates with other programs administered by the
1 37 department, whether other programs administered by the
1 38 department are used to focus assistance on
1 39 economically distressed areas of the state, and any
1 40 changes to the enterprise zone program or any other
1 41 programs administered by the department necessary to
1 42 better serve the needs of the economically distressed
1 43 areas of the state.
1 44 Sec. . EFFECTIVE AND RETROACTIVE APPLICABILITY
1 45 DATES.
1 46 1. The section of this Act amending section
1 47 15E.192, subsection 4, being deemed of immediate
1 48 importance, takes effect upon enactment and applies
1 49 retroactively to May 14, 1997.
1 50 2. The remaining sections of this Act, being
2 1 deemed of immediate importance, take effect upon
2 2 enactment and apply retroactively to March 1, 2006.>
