House Amendment 1657 PAG LIN 1 1 Amend the amendment, H=1645, to the Senate 1 2 amendment, H=1635, to House File 816, as amended, 1 3 passed, and reprinted by the House, as follows: 1 4 #1. Page 24, by inserting after line 44, the 1 5 following: 1 6 <Sec. . Section 257.31, subsection 17, 1 7 paragraph a, Code 2005, is amended to read as follows: 1 8 a. If a district's average transportation costs 1 9 per pupil exceed the state average transportation 1 10 costs per pupil determined under paragraph "c" by one 1 11 hundredfiftypercent, the committeemayshall grant 1 12 transportation assistance aid to the district in an 1 13 amount up to, but not exceeding, fifty cents of 1 14 transportation assistance for each dollar by which the 1 15 district's average transportation costs per pupil 1 16 exceed the state average transportation costs per 1 17 pupil as determined under paragraph "c". Such aid 1 18 shall be miscellaneous income and shall not be 1 19 included in district cost. 1 20 Sec. . Section 257.31, subsection 17, Code 1 21 2005, is amended by adding the following new 1 22 paragraphs: 1 23 NEW PARAGRAPH. e. There is appropriated from the 1 24 general fund of the state to the committee, for the 1 25 fiscal year beginning July 1, 2005, and each 1 26 succeeding fiscal year, up to eight million seven 1 27 hundred sixty=four thousand dollars for transportation 1 28 assistance aid to school districts as provided in this 1 29 subsection, which shall supplement, not supplant, the 1 30 moneys appropriated pursuant to paragraph "d". 1 31 NEW PARAGRAPH. f. The committee shall adopt rules 1 32 pursuant to chapter 17A for granting transportation 1 33 assistance aid and for otherwise administering this 1 34 subsection.> 1 35 #2.
