     1  1    Amend the Senate amendment, H=1634, to House File
     1  2 761, as amended, passed, and reprinted by the House,
     1  3 as follows:
     1  4 #1.  Page 8, by inserting after line 41 the
     1  5 following:
     1  6    <Sec.    .  CHILD DEVELOPMENT EDUCATION FORGIVABLE
     1  7 LOAN PROGRAM STUDY.  The department of education and
     1  8 the college student aid commission shall conduct a
     1  9 study of the need for implementing a forgivable loan
     1 10 program for child development students who after
     1 11 graduation provide high=quality child care, preschool,
     1 12 or child development services in areas of the state
     1 13 where there is a shortage of these services.  The
     1 14 department and commission shall report to the governor
     1 15 and general assembly on or before December 16, 2005,
     1 16 with findings and recommendations from the study.>
