     1  1    Amend the amendment, H=1506, to House File 874 as
     1  2 follows:
     1  3 #1.  Page 5, by inserting before line 37, the
     1  4 following:
     1  5    <Sec.    .  NEW SECTION.  484C.9A  WHITETAIL
     1  6 IDENTIFICATION.
     1  7    A landowner who keeps whitetail on a hunting
     1  8 preserve shall identify the whitetail with an
     1  9 identification device which may be in the form of a
     1 10 tag or other item approved by the department.  The
     1 11 identification device shall identify the landowner and
     1 12 the hunting preserve including by name and address.>
     1 13 #2.  Page 7, by inserting after line 19, the
     1 14 following:
     1 15    <   .  The department shall impose, assess, and
     1 16 collect a civil penalty upon a landowner who keeps
     1 17 whitetail in a hunting preserve, if the whitetail
     1 18 trespasses upon the land of another person or strays
     1 19 from the landowner's control onto a public road or a
     1 20 right=of=way.  The amount of the civil penalty shall
     1 21 not exceed one thousand five hundred dollars for each
     1 22 offense.  A civil penalty collected by the department
     1 23 shall be deposited into the general fund of the state.
     1 24 In addition, the landowner shall be liable for all
     1 25 damages caused by the landowner's whitetail that
     1 26 strays from the landowner's control upon the land of
     1 27 another person or onto a public road or a right=of=
     1 28 way.>
