     1  1    Amend House File 647 as follows:
     1  2 #1.  Page 1, by striking lines 1 through 8, and
     1  3 inserting the following:
     1  4    <Section 1. Section 68A.401, subsection 1, Code
     1  5 2005, is amended as follows:
     1  6    1.  All statements and reports required to be filed
     1  7 under this chapter shall be filed with the board as
     1  8 provided in section 68A.402, subsection 1.  The board
     1  9 shall provide copies of all statements and reports
     1 10 filed under this chapter for a county, city, school,
     1 11 or other political subdivision to the commissioner
     1 12 responsible under section 47.2.>
     1 13 #2.  Page 1, by inserting after line 30, the
     1 14 following:
     1 15    <Sec. ___.  Section 64A.402, subsection 1, Code
     1 16 2005, is amended to read as follows:
     1 17    1.  FILING METHODS.  Each committee shall file with
     1 18 the board reports disclosing information required
     1 19 under this section on forms prescribed by rule.
     1 20 Reports shall be filed on or before the required due
     1 21 dates by using any of the following methods:  mail
     1 22 bearing a United States postal service postmark, hand=
     1 23 delivery, facsimile transmission, or electronic filing
     1 24 as prescribed by rule.  To be considered timely filed,
     1 25 a statement or report under this chapter filed by mail
     1 26 by a candidate or candidate's committee for statewide
     1 27 office or the general assembly shall be postmarked
     1 28 with a United States postal service postmark on or
     1 29 before the third day prior to the due date that the
     1 30 statement or report is required to be filed.>
