     1  1    Amend House File 1 as follows:
     1  2 #1.  Page 1, line 7, by striking the word <four>
     1  3 and inserting the following:  <six>.
     1  4 #2.  Page 1, by striking lines 15 through 17 and
     1  5 inserting the following:
     1  6    <Sec.    .  It is the intent of the general
     1  7 assembly that school districts expend an amount
     1  8 corresponding to two percent of the six percent
     1  9 increase in the state percent of growth provided
     1 10 pursuant to section 257.8, subsection 1, for the
     1 11 budget year beginning July 1, 2006, for purposes of
     1 12 class size reduction, improving teacher quality, and
     1 13 increasing student achievement.
     1 14    Sec.    .  APPLICABILITY.  Section 1 of this Act is
     1 15 applicable for computing state aid under the state
     1 16 school foundation program for the school budget year
     1 17 beginning July 1, 2006.>
