     1  1    Amend Senate File 2298 as follows:
     1  2 #1.  Page 177, by inserting after line 25 the
     1  3 following:
     1  4    <Sec.    .  Section 208.16, subsection 2, Code
     1  5 2003, is amended to read as follows:
     1  6    2.  The division may establish procedures for
     1  7 transferring the responsibility for reclamation of a
     1  8 mine site to a state agency or political subdivision,
     1  9 or to a private entity, which intends to use the site
     1 10 for other purposes.  The division, with agreement from
     1 11 the receiving agency or subdivision, or from a private
     1 12 entity, to complete adequate reclamation, may approve
     1 13 the transfer of responsibility, release the bond or
     1 14 security, and terminate or amend the operator's
     1 15 authorization to conduct mining on the site.>
     1 16 #2.  By renumbering as necessary.
